Billy Boy Condoms

Most people know the brand from condoms, and that's fair, it's where the name made its name. But the range goes further than that. Lubricants, massage products, and accessories sit alongside the core condom lineup, making it a practical one-stop choice for anyone who wants quality without paying premium prices for a designer label.

The condoms themselves come in a wider variety than you might expect. Thin variants for people who prioritise sensation, extra-safe options for those who want more reassurance, textured styles, flavoured ones for oral use, and larger sizes for a better fit. Fit matters more than most people realise, a condom that's too tight is uncomfortable and more likely to fail, while one that's too loose can slip. Getting the size right is genuinely the most important thing, and Billy Boy's range makes it easier to find something that actually works for your body.

The lubricants follow the same logic: straightforward formulations, clearly labelled, at a price point that doesn't make you think twice about using enough. Water-based options are compatible with all condom materials and most sex toys. If you're pairing a lubricant with a latex condom, avoid oil-based products, they degrade latex and increase the risk of breakage. That's not a scare tactic, just basic chemistry worth knowing.

The variety in the range can feel overwhelming if you're standing in front of a shelf, so here's a practical breakdown.

Thin/ultra-thin, designed to maximise sensation while maintaining protection. Good choice if you find standard condoms reduce feeling significantly.
Extra safe, slightly thicker wall, higher burst pressure. Worth considering if peace of mind matters more than sensitivity.
Textured/ribbed, the ribs and dots are there for the partner's stimulation, not the wearer's. Whether they make a noticeable difference is genuinely subjective.
Flavoured, intended for oral sex, not penetrative use. The flavouring agents aren't designed for vaginal or anal tissue.
Large/XXL, if standard condoms feel tight around the shaft, this is the practical fix. Discomfort isn't something to push through.

One thing worth knowing: nominal width (the number printed on the box, usually in millimetres) is measured flat across the condom, not around it. A 52mm nominal width corresponds to roughly a 104mm circumference. Most standard condoms sit between 52mm and 56mm. If you've never measured, it takes about 30 seconds and makes a real difference to comfort and safety.

Lubricant is probably the most underused product in most people's sex lives. Using more of it, more often, reduces friction and discomfort, and for anal play it's not optional, it's essential. The body doesn't self-lubricate there at all.

Water-based lubricants are the safest all-round choice. They work with latex and polyisoprene condoms, they're compatible with silicone toys, and they clean up easily. The downside is that they dry out faster than silicone-based alternatives, so you may need to reapply. For longer sessions or water play, a silicone-based lubricant lasts longer, but check that it's compatible with any toys you're using, since silicone lube can degrade silicone toy surfaces over time.

Billy Boy's lubricant range sticks to water-based formulations, which keeps things simple and broadly compatible. Nothing fancy, nothing that requires reading a chemistry degree to understand the ingredients list.

Condoms have an expiry date for a reason. Latex degrades over time, especially when exposed to heat, UV light, or oils. Keeping a condom in your wallet for six months is a genuinely bad idea, the friction and body heat accelerate degradation even inside the foil. A bedside drawer or a cool, dry cupboard is fine. A car glove compartment in summer is not.

Check the expiry date before use. It's printed on every individual wrapper. This takes two seconds and is worth doing every time.

Lubricants also have a shelf life, though it's typically longer. Once opened, water-based lubes can dry out or change consistency. If it smells off or has separated, replace it.

Yes, latex condoms are safe to use with most sex toys. The main thing to watch is the lubricant you use alongside them, oil-based lubricants degrade latex, so stick to water-based options when combining condoms with toys. If you're using a silicone toy, also avoid silicone-based lubricants, as they can damage the toy's surface over time.

Nominal width is the key measurement, it's printed on every box in millimetres. Standard sizes typically range from around 52mm to 56mm nominal width. If standard condoms feel tight or uncomfortable, try a larger size. If they slip or bunch, a snugger fit may work better. Measuring your circumference and dividing by roughly 3.14 gives you an approximate nominal width to aim for.

Flavoured condoms are designed for oral sex. The flavouring agents used aren't formulated for vaginal or anal tissue and can cause irritation. For penetrative sex, use an unflavoured variant from the range instead.

Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Avoid keeping them in a wallet or car for extended periods, friction and temperature fluctuations degrade the latex even inside the foil packaging. Always check the expiry date printed on the individual wrapper before use.
