What is a bodystocking and how is it different from a bodysuit?

A bodystocking is a single sheer or mesh garment that covers the body from the torso down to the feet, similar to a full-body pair of tights. A bodysuit or teddy typically ends at the hip and doesn't include leg coverage. The full-length design of a bodystocking creates a more dramatic, unbroken silhouette.

Are bodystockings one-size-fits-all?

Many bodystockings are sold as one-size due to the high stretch content of nylon and spandex blends. However, "one size" varies between brands, always check the listed height and weight range before ordering. Some styles, particularly those with lace panels or structured elements, are available in a small range of sizes for a better fit.

Can you wear a bodystocking under clothing?

Yes, fine-mesh or sheer styles can be worn under loose trousers or a skirt for a subtle textured effect on the arms and décolletage. Fishnet styles are more visible and work better as a deliberate layering statement under open-weave knitwear or a sheer blouse. The look has been popular in fashion for years and isn't limited to lingerie contexts.

How do I stop a fishnet bodystocking from snagging?

The main culprits are jewellery, rough fingernails, and zips on other clothing. Put the bodystocking on before any rings or bracelets, and store it in a mesh laundry bag away from items with metal fastenings. If a snag does appear, don't pull the thread, secure the knot with a small drop of clear nail polish and let it dry before wearing again.
