Soft and smooth material, solid quality. Not strong enough vibrations for me, but certainly works perfectly for others.
I like that it is so quiet that it can be used relatively discreetly. We have ours hidden in the bathroom if the wind blows in the shower - and it is discreet enough to be used without others at home hearing it.
