Some restraints work through strength. This one works through position. The Sportsheets Neck & Wrist Restraint locks the wearer's hands to their collar — not spread apart, not behind the back, but held up near the neck. It's an unexpectedly vulnerable position. Arms can't be used for balance or defence. The wearer has to stay still, lean into support, or trust their partner to guide them.

The design is simple: a long collar wraps around the neck, and two wrist cuffs attach directly to it. Tighten the collar, and the hands are drawn in close. There's no struggling free, no leverage. It's restraint that works by geometry, not force.

Built from neoprene — the same material used in wetsuits — it's light enough to wear for extended scenes without the wearer feeling weighed down. The feel is firm but forgiving, and it distributes pressure more evenly than leather or metal.

Intensity: Medium.

This restraint is not entry-level. The wearer loses the use of their hands and has limited control over their posture. That creates a strong psychological response — more so than some people expect from a soft restraint. But it's also not extreme. There are no locks that require keys, no complicated buckles, and the wearer can still speak and move their lower body freely.

If you're new to restraints, this is a strong second or third product. If you've used cuffs or under-bed straps before and want something that feels more restrictive without introducing metal or rope, this is a logical next step.

Agree on a safe-word before use. Even though this restraint can be loosened quickly, the wearer's hands are not available to tap out or gesture.

Material & Quality

The entire system is made from neoprene. It's flexible, breathable, and doesn't trap heat the way leather or PVC can. The surface has a slight grip to it — it won't slide around once tightened, but it also won't chafe during movement.

Neoprene doesn't creak, doesn't need conditioning, and won't dry out or crack over time. It's also significantly lighter than leather restraints of the same size, which matters when something is worn around the neck for more than a few minutes.

The stitching is reinforced at the attachment points where the wrist cuffs connect to the collar. These are the areas under the most stress, and the construction reflects that.

Fit & Adjustment

The collar adjusts using a buckle closure. It should sit snug but not tight — you want enough tension to keep the hands pulled in close, but not so much that it restricts breathing or feels uncomfortable when the wearer turns their head.

The wrist cuffs also adjust independently. This is important because wrist size varies more than people expect, and the cuffs need to stay secure without cutting off circulation. If the cuffs are too loose, the wearer can slip a hand out. If they're too tight, the scene will need to stop sooner than planned.

Check the fit before beginning. Have the wearer move their arms slightly, tilt their head, and take a few deep breaths. If anything feels off, adjust before proceeding.

Note: there is no quick-release mechanism. The collar and cuffs are secured with standard buckles. They can be undone quickly if needed, but not instantly. The person applying the restraint should stay within reach during use.

How to Use It

Fit the collar around the wearer's neck first, leaving it slightly looser than the final position. Then secure the wrist cuffs. Once both wrists are in place, tighten the collar to draw the hands in toward the neck. The wearer's hands will naturally rest near their collarbones.

This restraint works best when the wearer is kneeling, sitting, or lying on their back. Standing is possible but less stable — the inability to use arms for balance makes it harder to stay upright, especially if other stimulation is involved.

The restraint creates dependency. The wearer will need help moving, adjusting position, or even brushing hair out of their face. That's part of the dynamic, but it also means the person in control needs to stay attentive.

Start with shorter scenes — 10 to 15 minutes — and build duration as you both learn how the restraint affects posture, circulation, and headspace. Have the wearer report any tingling, numbness, or discomfort in the hands, neck, or shoulders immediately.

Cleaning & Storage

Wipe the neoprene down with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap after each use. Pay attention to the areas that made contact with skin, especially around the neck and wrists where sweat and oils accumulate.

Rinse off any soap residue and let the restraint air-dry completely before storing. Don't fold it while damp — neoprene can develop an odour if stored wet.

Store flat or loosely coiled in a drawer or storage bag. Avoid hanging it by the buckles for long periods, as this can stretch the material unevenly over time.

Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or expose to direct heat sources. Neoprene is durable, but high heat will damage its elasticity.
